The Youth Placemaking Balkans (YPB) project leverages five years of BG Be Active Association’s experience in using placemaking to engage and empower young people. Building on successful initiatives such as _Spot (2017 and 2018), Me, You, Plovdiv – Zero Waste Capital of Culture (2019), and Placemaking for Active Recreation, YPB aims to equip youth in six Balkan countries with life skills and entrepreneurial competences.

By fostering civic engagement and active citizenship, the project creates a transnational youth placemaking movement, encouraging young people to be agents of change in their communities. Through placemaking education and training, YPB develops a youth-oriented methodology to create inclusive, vibrant public spaces and a strong network for social entrepreneurship.
